  • The Floor Plan (top) shows what the building actually looks like. The Map (left) is generated by the robot while driving around.
  • The white area on the Map (left) are where the robot thinks it has already been. If you click somewhere it has already been, the robot will try to drive back there.
  • Looking at both the Floor Plan and the Map from the robot, try to figure out where the robot actually is.
  • The panoramic camera can see all around the robot, so the front of the robot is actually in the middle of the image you are seeing. The left & right edges of the image are of the back of the robot!
  • The goal that the robot is currently trying to find is highlighted Green instead of Blue.
  • If the current goal (green) is too hard for the robot to find, click on "Delete current goal".
  • You can move, resize and minimize any of the windows, by dragging the titlebar around.
  • When the battery level is low, the robot will automatically find its battery charger and recharge itself for roughly 2hrs, then start driving again for 2hrs.
  • The Map (left) generated by the robot changes over time, as it fixes the mistakes it has made. But remember that the Map might be upside down or a mirror image of the Floor Plan (top).
  • If you click on "Advanced View" in the Menu, you will see the Pose Cells View & LV Cells View, which show the internals of the "brain". This shows the different places where the robot thinks it might be. For further details, read the publications on the home page.
